Priscilla M. Lu
 Priscilla M. Lu, PhD, Director, Chair of the Board of Directors,Dr. Lu is currently the Managing Partner and Founder of Cathaya Funds, a private equity fund focusing on international business alliances in China such as the Hong Kong-based Better World International, Ltd. ZAP recently announced Better World International’s $25 million financing arrangement with the company to help accelerate a three-part growth strategy on battery systems, wheel motor technologies and affordable electric vehicle design and production.
Through her involvement with Cathaya Funds, Dr. Lu also is a principal in the foundation of China Broadband Inc., a company heavily invested in interactive broadband, wireless and cable media programming in China. For the five years prior, Dr. Lu was China Advisor to Mayfield Fund, a forty-year old venture capital firm with over $2.8 billion under management. Dr. Lu helped found GSR Fund for Mayfield, a venture capital fund in China overseeing more that $700 million in investments.
She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Northwestern University and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics (Honors) from the University of Wisconsin and has over 50 patents in the area of telecommunications and networking.
Eqbal Al Yousuf, Director, Al Yousuf L.L.C.
 ZAP Chairman Mr. Eqbal Al YousufEqbal Al Yousuf has two Bachelors Degree – one in Computer Science and the other in Economics. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, U.S.A. in May 1983, after he graduated he joined his father’s firm as Managing Director and in 1988 he was appointed as Deputy Chairman, 2001 as Vice Chairman, and 2004 as Chief Executive Officer. In 2005, Eqbal was appointed as the President of Al Yousuf Group; a company that for more than 55 years has grown into a multi-million Dirham conglomerate covering operations ranging from Motor Vehicles, Boat Manufacturing, Auto Rental, Real Estate Development, Home Electrical Appliances, Computer Operating Systems, Electronics and Transportation etc etc… and has proved to be one of the reputed and leading business groups in U.A.E. The group is now becoming an ISO certified company in sync with international quality. Despite being at the helm of a huge business empire, Eqbal keeps punctual office hours and keenly follows the operations of every department, division and branch of the company, on a daily basis. In addition, he is a fervent advocate of modern management. As a direct result of his leadership, the company continues to constantly achieve high levels of success and tremendous growth. Eqbal is married and has four children, his interests include reading, travel and sea sports. He is actively involved with numerous social and environmental causes – both at a personal and business level.
Peter H. Scholl, Director
 Peter Scholl, ZAP DirectorPeter H. Scholl is an independent engineering consultant. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Scholl served as President of Rotoblock Inc. in Canada and Rotoblock Corporation, a Nevada corporation, in the development of Oscillating Piston Engine technology. He served as President of Unimont Inc., a real estate development firm, in Penticton, Canada from 2001 to 2003. From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Scholl worked on the development of water purification systems in Arizona. Mr. Scholl has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Technology in Biel, Switzerland.
Mark Abdou, Director
 Mark Abdou, ZAP DirectorMark Abdou was the Company’s previous outside SEC counsel for over five years. He is currently the CEO and Managing Partner of Libertas Law Group in Long Beach, California. Mr. Abdou received his Juris Doctorate from the UC Berkeley School of Law in 1999 and is a member of the California State Bar Association. He has served as co-chair of the financing committee for the Voices of Uganda project Voices in Harmony and is also a founding director of Project PLAY! In addition, Mr. Abdou is a founder and current Chairman of the Advisory Board of California Executives. Most recently, he was selected as a Rising Star of 2008 and Rising Star of 2009 in Southern California by the industry publication Super Lawyers®.
From August 2008 to March 2009, Mr. Abdou served as General Counsel and Sr. Vice President of GTX Corp, a technology company committed to developing miniaturized GPS tracking and cellular location-transmitting technology platforms for integration into a wide variety of consumer products. From December 2003 to August 2008, Mr. Abdou was a partner at Richardson & Patel, LLP, with expertise in negotiating with large debt and equity lenders. While serving these various positions, he has assisted corporations with IPOs, and has been involved with mergers and acquisitions, registered offerings, S.E.C. compliance and corporate governance. Mr. Abdou also served as counsel for various companies based in the Middle East.
Gary Dodd, Director
 Gary Dodd, ZAP DirectorZAP has elected Gary Dodd to its board of directors. Dodd, a successful entrepreneur and former Toyota executive, is the CEO of Zap Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (ZMMK), which has an exclusive U.S. manufacturing agreement with ZAP to provide a domestic manufacturing base for the company.
Dodd, a graduate of Marshall University has a four-decade career in the energy and automotive sectors that includes broad international experience. He was an executive with Ashland Oil, where he worked extensively in the Middle East. In 1986, he joined Toyota Motor Corporation as a general manager of Toyota’s first U.S. manufacturing facility.
In 1998, Dodd founded his own business, which supplied just-in-time, sequenced automotive components from eleven manufacturing facilities to Toyota, Honda, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, Ford and General Motors.
Earlier this year, ZMMK, applied to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for a $200 million Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing loan to build its Franklin plant. DOE will be allocating $25 billion in such loans to qualified car makers and suppliers who can build advanced technology vehicles in the U.S.
