UPS Leases Fleet of ZAP Electric Trucks for Third Consecutive Year, Totaling 92 Vehicles since 2007

SANTA ROSA, California (December 9, 2009) – For the third year in a row, UPS has leased a fleet of electric trucks from ZAP (OTC BB: ZAAP) to help with deliveries to urban and residential communities in the Bay Area.

The 25 ZAP electric trucks are enabling UPS drivers to more easily schedule delivery routes in neighborhoods and dense urban areas where congestion and parking restrictions present potential problems for larger UPS vans. UPS has leased 92 electric vehicles from ZAP since 2007 to assist with increased delivery needs during November and December.

FAA Orders Fleet of Electric Trucks from ZAP

Sun Shines on University of Arizona Solar Electric Parking Vehicle

TUCSON, Arizona -- University of Arizona Parking & Transportation Services reports they love their new parking enforcement vehicle, a solar-electric truck from ZAP that went into service this week on the Tucson campus. PTS says the main attraction for the new electric vehicle is that it gets part of its charge from the sun. According to statements in the campus newspaper, the Xebra was purchased to replace a 1998 gas engine pickup. The University says it has not purchased a gas vehicle since 2003 after implementing a purchasing policy for alternative fuels.
