ZAP and eMOTORS Create Marketing Alliance

SEBASTOPOL, California (January 17, 2002) - Electric scooter pioneer ZAP (NASDAQ:ZAPP) today announced it has signed a cooperative marketing agreement with eMOTORS of San Rafael, California.

An electric vehicle distributor, eMOTORS owns local distribution rights for the Sparrow, a unique, three-wheeled electric vehicle manufactured by Corbin Motors. The single-occupancy Sparrow falls under a motorcycle classification. Unlike a normal motorcycle, the Sparrow is fully enclosed for protection from the elements. Capable of traveling up to 70 MPH, the Sparrow is freeway-legal and can even travel in California carpool lanes.

ZAP Adds Sales and Marketing Muscle

SEBASTOPOL, California (January 14, 2002) - Alternative transportation developer ZAP (NASDAQ:ZAPP) today announced that veteran marketer Gerry Guerin has joined the Company as its Director of Sales and Marketing.

Initially hired as a consultant in October, Guerin brings more than 25 years of marketing management, retail chain store, and mass merchandise experience to assist ZAP in expanding the retail marketplace for its electric scooters, bicycles and other alternative transportation and recreational vehicles.

Previously, Guerin was the founder of Monterey Marketing and Western Regional Sales Manager for Federated Group.

New ZAP Store in San Rafael Sports Indoor Electric Scooter Track

The ZAP store at Northgate Mall has an indoor track that offers test rides and amusement rides on the future of transportation. Opened by electric vehicle pioneer ZAP of Sebastopol, California, the new store features folding electric scooters, moped-class electric scooters, electric bicycles and more. ZAP makes the popular electric scooter called the ZAPPY, which was featured on The Today Show, ridden by pop-rock sensation Smashmouth, and featured in Disney's new film "The Princess Diaries."

ZAP Launches Online Auction for Electric Vehicles at www.zapworld.com

SEBASTOPOL, Calif., Nov. 2, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Electric vehicle pioneer ZAP (Nasdaq:ZAPP - news) has launched a new online service at http://www.zapworld.com where customers can name their own price on close-out, surplus, demos and used electric scooters, bicycles, cars and more.

Mario Bertacco, Director of Internet Marketing for ZAP, said the new bid feature has already increased Internet sales during the two-week testing period. The auction even has non-motorized ZAP bicycles, inline scooters and parts.

ZAP Reports Second Quarter Fiscal 2001 Results

Sebastopol, California (Aug. 14, 2001) - ZAP (NASDAQ:ZAPP), formerly known as ZAPWORLD.COM, today reported its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30 of fiscal year 2001.

Total revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2001, were $940,000 compared to $2,283,000 in the prior year, a decrease of $1,343,000 or 59%. Net loss for the same period was $1,953,000, or $ 0.31 per share, compared to a net loss of $477,000 or $ 0.09 per share in 2000. Revenues for the six months ended June 30, 2001 were $2,953,000 compared to $4,180,000 in the prior year. The net loss for the first six months of 2001 was $3,237,000 or $ 0.54 per share, compared to a loss of $960,000 or $ 0.19 per share in the prior year.
