Chinese electric car pioneer Shandong Jindalu planted 1,000 trees in China as part of a US-China joint venture with ZAP of the United States.

A new kind of electric car and truck are taking gas prices head-on in California's Central Valley. The gas-free vehicles are from California automaker ZAP and are now available in Visalia.

Chicago's Sopraffina Marketcaffe today is celebrating Earth Day with the unveiling of a new, first-of-its-kind, 100 percent solar-electric powered catering vehicle. La Grange Park electric car dealer Jessup's Automotive helped bring the vehicle to Chicago as part of a dealer network being formed by ZAP.

With record oil and gas prices, ZAP Minnesota and Xebra Owner Gary Hoover had the only gas-free electric cars for sale at the Twin Cities Auto Show this week. ZAP sells a sedan and a truck available at 50 dealers across the country.
