PennDOT Gives Dealer Green Light to Sell ZAP Electric Car
LITITZ, Pa. -- Mike Cronin, owner of Lititz Car Company, announced the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has given the green light to sell a new 40 MPH electric car and truck from ZAP (OTCBB:ZAAP).
Cronin said ZAP cars and trucks have generated sales interest since arriving at his dealership this summer. Because the electric vehicles were new in Pennsylvania, he and the manufacturer had to work with PennDOT to file the necessary paperwork to legally sell the cars.
“I am grateful for the cooperation from PennDOT to make a new form of transportation like this available in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” said Cronin. “Everyone is hurting from high gas prices and the poor economy and vehicles like the ZAP are part of the solution.”
Xebra sedans and trucks are classified as motorcycles under Federal motor vehicle standards. These plug-in vehicles have a top speed of 40 MPH and are designed to recharge at any household outlet. With an MSRP starting at $11,700, ZAP designed the vehicles to be economical and practical for in-town driving.
Cronin said that his dealership will hold a celebration on Monday, October 6th, with prospective customers and local officials invited. ZAP co-founder Gary Starr is expected to attend. Lititz Car Company is located at 723 S. Broad Street, Lititz, PA 17543 and available by phone at (717) 626-9010.
ZAP has been selling a record number of the Xebra electric vehicles since they were launched in 2006. Dealerships are opening across the country as people look for alternatives to gas-powered vehicles. ZAP announced this week it has expanded its workforce by 30 percent since the beginning of the year.

The ZAP dealer network seems
The ZAP dealer network seems to be getting better all the time, which is good for the company and the consumers as well, because this way ZAP product are accessible to more and more people who are interested in buying EVs; for whatever purpose: to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce their expenses, to do their bit for the environment etc.
