SEBASTOPOL, California (July 1, 2002) - ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ), formerly (OTC BB:ZAPPQ) announced today that its stock has begun trading on the Over-the-Counter (OTC) Bulletin Board under the new stock symbol of ZAPZ effective July 1, 2002. According to the OTC Bulletin Board, the symbol change is to indicate that ZAP is no longer under Chapter 11 Reorganization, and that the stock has undergone a reverse stock split. July 1, 2002, is also the effective date of the Merger between Voltage Vehicles and the RAP Group, Inc., two companies specializing in automotive distribution and marketing. Voltage Vehicles and the Rap Group, Inc. will operate as fully owned independent subsidiaries of ZAP. The OTC Bulletin Board is a regulated quotation service that displays real-time quotes, last sale prices, and volume information in over-the-counter equity securities. OTC Bulletin Board securities are traded by a community of market makers that enter quotes and trade reports through a highly sophisticated computer network. Investors work through a broker/dealer to trade OTC Bulletin Board Securities. Information regarding the OTC Bulletin Board, including stock quotations, can be found on the Internet at www.otcbb.com. ZAP's stock symbol will be "ZAPZ" on the OTC Bulletin Board. However, some Internet quotation services add an "OB" to the end of the symbol and will use "ZAPZ.OB" for purposes of providing stock quotes.
