Kermit the Frog™ Hops on a ZAPPY in 'Kermit's Swamp Years' Now Available on Home Video

SEBASTOPOL, California (September 10, 2002) - Electric scooter maker ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ) today announced that a scene from the first Muppet direct-to-video feature Kermit's Swamp Years™, now available in stores, features a stunt with Kermit the Frog riding the ZAPPY® electric scooter. Kermit's Swamp Years describes Kermit's life as a young frog before he became famous. In the movie, Kermit reflects on his youth while riding a ZAPPY scooter around the swamp he called home. The effect is one of the latest examples of Muppets™ magic from The Jim Henson Company. ZAPPY helped pioneer the market for battery-powered scooters in 1997 and the Company says its quiet, rechargeable folding scooter has been popular around Hollywood on and off the camera and have helped raise awareness for alternative transportation and the environment. The ZAPPY has been featured on TV shows like "Just Shoot Me," "Diagnosis Murder," and "Malcolm in the Middle" and in films like The Princess Diaries and in ad campaigns by Yahoo, Saks Fifth Avenue, Old Navy and Intel. ZAP says it received a thank you card from Kermit the Frog saying the ZAPPY makes him feel like a 'tadpole' again. "Everyone who rides one falls in love with it - doctors, lawyers, actors, musicians - and now even frogs!" says ZAP spokesperson Alex Campbell.
