SANTA ROSA, California (July 28, 2003) - Electric vehicle pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ) is "shifting gears" from being a manufacturer to becoming a marketing and distribution company for advanced transportation technologies, says CEO Steve Schneider.
In an interview with www.WallStreetReporter.com last week, Schneider spoke at length about the changes taking place at ZAP. While ZAP was founded in 1994 to manufacture and market two-wheeled personal electric vehicles like electric bicycles and scooters, he said that the future of the company is in marketing and distribution. He also emphasized that ZAP is "adding two more wheels to the equation" by entering into the electric automobile market.
Schneider said that ZAP is creating relationships with manufacturers around the world to build a distribution network for advanced transportation technologies, including battery, hybrid, fuel cell, photovoltaic and other technologies. Schneider cited distribution agreements already in place with companies like Daka Development for the SEASCOOTER™ and World Alternative Transport Technologies, Corp. for the new ZAP L.U.V.™ neighborhood electric cars. Schneider says ZAP is in discussion with other manufacturers to continue bringing new vehicles and transportation technologies into its distribution network.

CEO Steve Schneider is putting ZAP in the media spotlight during 2003 with interviews on CNN, NBC, ABC, Discovery Channel, TECHTV, HGTV and more. He's pictured here last week on the set of MoneyTV.
