The August issue of For Him Magazine (FHM) lists the ZAPPY among the "Best Gear and Gadgets," the only scooter to make the list. Over the years, ZAPPY has enjoyed the following of celebrities, commuters and thrill-seekers the world over. Introduced in 1997, ZAPPY helped pioneer the market for electric scooters. Quiet, rechargeable, and portable, ZAPPY has captured the hearts and minds of thousands around the world and helped spark an explosion of portable electric scooters. In a recent Billboard Magazine article, Manhattan programming director Dia Stein says she prefers to use the ZAPPY around the city.
"It goes everywhere with me," Stein says. "I take it to restaurants and coat-check it. I bring it to the theater and fold it up under the seat. I zip around the neighborhood all the time, easily, efficiently, and effectively. I can take it anywhere inside, because it's not gas-powered," said Stein. ZAP has made numerous magazine lists. When first introduced six years ago, ZAPPY was named by "The Gadget Guru" as one of the Best New Products. In 2000, Advertising Age Magazine included the ZAPPY in its annual Ad Age Marketing 100, along with campaigns and products from such companies as Apple Computers, Anheuser-Busch and Microsoft. The ZAPPY has helped raise awareness for alternative transportation and the environment in Hollywood. After using the scooter on film last year, one celebrity summed up the sensation rather nicely.
"The ZAPPY makes me feel like a tadpole again," said Kermit the Frog after using one in "Kermit's Swamp Years."
