Viva ZAP Vegas!
World's Largest Electric Car Rental Fleet
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (December 17, 2003) – Advanced transportation company ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ) announced today that its rental fleet of over 100 electric cars, believed to be the world's largest, is up and running in Las Vegas.

ZAP has opened a dealership on Las Vegas' auto row in conjunction with its new rental operations. ZAP of Las Vegas operates a full-service auto dealership where you can test drive, rent and purchase electric cars today at 1815 East Sahara Avenue on Las Vegas' auto row. The location includes a parts and maintenance center, which can handle custom electric vehicle service and repairs. ZAP of Las Vegas is also operating two rental outlets on the Las Vegas Strip, at the La Concha Hotel at 2955 South Las Vegas Boulevard and near the Las Vegas Showcase at 3771 Las Vegas Boulevard. ZAP manager Barry Rutigliano says an average of 51,000 people pass by the Showcase location per hour.
"We are proud to operate the largest electric car rental fleet in the world," said Rutigliano. "It's exciting to be a part of ZAP and we are looking forward to renting and selling ZAP's other cars, scooters, bikes as well as future products."
ZAP acquired the electric car rental fleet in September. Traditionally an electric scooter and bicycle manufacturer, in 2002 ZAP started developing and marketing electric automobiles. The company is now manufacturing electric cars in China at a price under $10,000. ZAP CEO Steve Schneider says that rentals are an important to ZAP's marketing plan and likes Las Vegas because it is one of the busiest tourist destinations in the world.
"ZAP will be putting its new ZAP L.U.V.™-line of products into our new rental locations to attract more customers, an important reason why we are seeking out these prominent rental outlets," said Schneider. "Now 36 million international business travelers and tourists per year have an opportunity to try a ZAP in Las Vegas."
