SANTA ROSA, California (January 6, 2003) - Electric vehicle pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ) announced today it has retained the services of Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP of Mill Valley, Oakland, and Walnut Creek, California, one of the oldest and most diverse law firms in the Bay Area.
Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP (DGW) has been engaged by ZAP to handle various corporate law matters, as well as certain regulatory and environmental matters. DGW has also agreed to hold a position on ZAP's advisory board.
"We are excited to be associated with ZAP in their venture of creating a new, socially-responsible car company," said William R. Hill, the firm's CEO. "We are looking forward to providing legal counsel to ZAP regarding many of their environmental and regulatory initiatives, as well as other aspects of their business."
Tracing its history back to 1918, DGW is a full service law firm with expertise in corporate and business law, securities, intellectual property, will and estate planning, real estate transactions, and all types of litigation. In 1988, DGW pioneered the concept that copyright infringement could be pursued as a profit center for its clients. Having recovered over $150 million for clients from infringers, the firm has pursued more cases of software copyright infringement than any firm in the world, now in excess of 10,000, and has established a reputation as a national leader in this area. Today, the firm counts among its clients the largest software companies and software trade associations in the industry, as well as many smaller developers and consultants.
DGW has also expanded its traditional practice into image and trademark licensing for musical groups and all areas relating to the music and film industry, including management contracts, recording agreements, royalty processing systems, and artist development agreements.
