ZAP Names Ron Pavelka as National Sales Manager

SANTA ROSA, California (February 16, 2004) – Electric transportation pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ) announced today that Ron Pavelka has been named as National Sales Manager for the Northern California company's Consumer Products Division, which includes electric bicycles, scooters, dive propulsion vehicles and future products. Pavelka started at ZAP the first of the year. He has worked in consumer products distribution for the past 25 years, with an extensive background in the sports and recreation industry, including more than a decade in the dive industry. He has worked in operations, customer service, field sales, marketing, and sales & marketing management. Pavelka has consulted for such companies as Reebok, Rollerblade, the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association, The Bicycle Council, The Inline Skating Association and Seagate. Most recently Ron was the General Manager for Sea & Sea USA, a company that specialized in manufacturing and distributing underwater camera equipment. As General Manager he streamlined the organization, helping to increase its productivity by 39 percent, sales by 22 percent and profits by 127 percent. Prior to this he worked with Luxfer, the largest manufacturer of aluminum gas containment cylinder in the world. As Director of Sales and Marketing for one of its divisions, he worked extensively in mergers and acquisitions. Pavelka has attended many sales and marketing seminars throughout North America. He and his family have called Sonoma County their home since 1984.
