ZAP Hires Quality Control Manager in China

SANTA ROSA, California (March 3, 2004) - Electric vehicle pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ) announced today that it has named Mr. Mujin "Mountain" Chen to its Advisory Board while assisting with ZAP's manufacturing operations in Asia.
Mujin "Mountain" Chen has been working with ZAP for the past several months in new product development. During a recent trade mission to China to explore electric car development, ZAP CEO Steve Schneider and Advisory Board Chair Dr. CC Chan met with Chen to outline plans for the future. In the course of their discussions, Schneider and Chan invited Chen to join ZAP's manufacturing team and oversee the final quality control for ZAP's production as the Northern California Company works to expand its global distribution for electric transportation technologies.
"I share ZAP's determination to protect the environment and to develop and promote economical and pollution-free products," said Chen. "It is my hope that I can bring my energy and enthusiasm for this market to ZAP as well as implement the latest industry knowledge to help increase market share for ZAP's products. A citizen of the People's Republic of China, Chen has over than 12 years experience in product development, manufacturing and international distribution. Chen has helped introduce hundreds of consumer products, more recently focused on electric transportation, including electric scooters, e-bikes, motorbikes, golf carts and other related products. His knowledge base includes a familiarity with policies and operating procedures of foreign trade having worked with technology companies throughout Asia and establishing business relationships in Asia, America, Europe, Africa and Australia.
A graduate from Xiamen University, one of the top ten universities in China, Chen worked with Xiamen Foreign Trade Corporation for four years, one of the largest foreign trade companies in Xiamen, with a turnover of more than US$200 million annually. In 1996, Chen went to work with Xinxing Xiamen IMP. & EXP. Corp. developing popular and novelty products for competitive world markets.
