SANTA ROSA, California (March 10, 2003) - Internet consultant and environmentalist Kevin Schneider has been named to the Advisory Board of Directors for electric vehicle company ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ), the Company announced today.
In the past few months ZAP has been building an advisory board comprised of business consultants, industry experts and strategic partners. The advisory board is chaired by Dr. CC Chan, a Chinese national considered to be one of the world's foremost authorities on electric transportation. In addition to Kevin Schneider, ZAP's advisory board of directors includes William H. Donahue of the law firm Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP and Mr. Mujin "Mountain" Chen, a Chinese national who oversees ZAP's manufacturing and quality control in Asia.
Kevin Schneider is President and founder of Chase the Web, Inc., an Internet consulting company. A shareholder of ZAP, Schneider has been working with ZAP's sales, marketing, accounting and operations for the past several months to upgrade the Company's Internet strategy and website development. Under Schneider's direction, ZAP is working to launch a new proprietary e-commerce system this spring as well as websites in English, Chinese, Spanish and other languages to help expand ZAP's brand and distribution internationally. Kevin Schneider is cousin to ZAP CEO Steve Schneider.
Schneider has over eight years of experience in web management and has worked as lead project manager for various Internet-based companies, including www.Resortime.com, www.paralegallearningcenter.com, www.chartwhiz.com, and www.syntaxcom.com. Schneider holds a Bachelor's Degree in accounting from SUNY Old Westbury as well as post-graduate training in advanced computer technology. In addition, he was a professor at Briarcliff College in the computer science department.
A Southern California resident, Schneider spends much of his free time involved in environmental advocacy and does Internet consulting for several environmentalist organizations. He says the environment is one of the reasons why he agreed to join ZAP.
"As someone who really believes in protecting the environment, joining ZAP is a dream come true," said Kevin Schneider. "So often we feel powerless in what we can do about issues like air pollution, oil spills, or climate change, but as a member of ZAP I feel like I am directly helping to make a positive impact on the environment."
