ZAP Hires Jackson W. Long as Corporate General Counsel

SANTA ROSA, California (April 30, 2004) – Transportation pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAPZ) announced today that Mr. Jackson W. Long has been named as the Corporate General Counsel.

As Corporate General Counsel, Mr. Long will work initially on regulatory compliance for ZAP's auto sales, having extensive history working with the California Department of Motor Vehicles. ZAP is working to establish an auto dealer network for advanced technology vehicles, including high-efficiency and environmentally friendly transportation. Mr. Long has an extensive background in automotive regulatory law, working from 1994 to 1999 as Corporate General Counsel for H.G. Automotive Systems, Inc., a multi-franchise auto retailer group where he represented the Company in all DMV proceedings. Mr. Long has also spent time as a sole practitioner attorney at law. He frequently appears as Judge Pro Tempore for the Alameda County Superior Courts. Mr. Long is a graduate of Golden Gate University of Law in San Francisco in addition to holding a Bachelors degree from San Jose State in Criminal Justice. He lives in Pleasanton, California with his wife and two children.
