Santa Rosa firm rolls out innovative alternative vehicles

The collection of tiny cars, all huddled under the ZAP banner, is shuffled off in a corner of the San Francisco International Auto Show, away from the thundering herd of big sedans and SUVs that, even while still, threaten to trample right over these midget motorcars.

But the crowd around the ZAP display is something of which any big firm -- General Motors comes to mind this week -- would be envious.
