ZAP Retains Santa Rosa Law Firm Senneff Freeman & Bluestone, LLP

SANTA ROSA, Calif., July 12, 2004 -- Transportation pioneer ZAP (Stock Symbol: ZAAP) announced today it has retained the services of Senneff Freeman & Bluestone, LLP(SFB) of Santa Rosa, California.

CEO Steve Schneider says ZAP has been actively pursuing strategic partnerships that would bring more professional services to bear in furthering the Company's automotive business developments, including legal services.

In January, ZAP retained Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP (DGW), a San Francisco Bay Area law firm with offices in Mill Valley, Oakland and Walnut Creek. William "Rock" Hill, a principal of DGW, agreed to join ZAP's advisory Board of Directors last month. ZAP has also retained the Los Angeles securities firm Richardson Patell and in April hired Jackson W. Long as General Corporate Counsel.

"ZAP wants to take the initiative in our legal activities to help pave the way for our automotive business plan," says Schneider.
