ZAP (OTC BB: ZAAP) Electric Car Dealership Approved for Austin, Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (January 24, 2007) -- Automotive pioneer ZAP (OTCBB: ZAAP) announced today that its dealership for the XEBRA electric sedan and truck in Austin, Texas, Shock Value, is officially open for business following regulatory approval from the State of Texas. Shock Value owner John Martin had the idea for a dealership in his search to buy an electric car. Shock Value owner John Martin has received a dealer license with the State of Texas Department of Motor Vehicles to sell electric cars. After several months of waiting for the license, Martin says he is grateful for the dealer license enabling him to move forward with selling the ZAP XEBRAs. He says it has been getting overwhelming interest from potential buyers and green car enthusiastic people. "I started this whole process as a consumer and my quest to get one in Texas quickly led me to a relationship with ZAP," said John Martin, owner of Shock Value, who splits his time as a delegate to the United Nations for Montessori Education. "We teach our children about the environment and oil-free forms of transportation. These children are smart and when they asked us why more people don't drive electric cars, I realized that talking about it is not enough. More than anything, we need to be accountable to the children." ZAP is setting up a network of licensed dealers, like Shock Value, across the country to sell affordable and zero emission electric vehicles. "The XEBRA brings a lot of benefits for fleet applications, utilities, busy multi-car families, environmentally friendly drivers, and everyone who wants to make a difference," says the CEO of ZAP Steve Schneider. The XEBRA plugs into any 110V outlet and has 90 percent less emission than regular cars. It comes as a four seat XEBRA Sedan and a two seat XEBRA truck, with a pickup truck configuration that converts into a flatbed or dump bed. It is also possible to add a rooftop solar panel to increase the battery life with solar energy.
