SANTA ROSA, Calif., Jan. 4 ZAP (OTC Bulletin Board: ZAAP) announced today that it is shipping the new Recharge-It-All Battery line for mobile electronics and laptop computers to major consumer electronic retailers and specialty dealers nationwide during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), January 8-11 in Las Vegas.
Recent investment by ZAP in ownership of cutting edge battery manufacturing in China has resulted in the design and engineering of a new product category focused on providing renewable energy for mobile electronic devices. As a "green" company, ZAP will also be focusing on the advantages of its Portable Energy technology and the potential for reducing the amount of disposable batteries in landfill.
ZAP will feature its Universal Laptop Battery M48 that will boost major brands of laptop computers for up to 6 hours. There is also a USB output to charge and power other mobile devices while using the computer. It comes with a full complement of power tips for low power mobile electronics.
"Road warriors will like the sleek design and powerful 49 watt capability," says Steve Tucker, Sales Manager for ZAP Portable Energy. "We should take a major market share with this product." The suggested Retail Price is $139.99.
The new product has been trademarked by ZAP as The Recharge-It-All Battery Line. Taking its root from two words, Rechargeable and Universal, the product has been touted as the best in class. Products start at just $29.99 suggested retail and include USB power out with a full set of power tips to fit most mobile electronic devices, including cell phones, smart phones, digital cameras, Blackberry and Palm products, MP3/iPod, and more. Take the 4 AA batteries out of the power pack and use them to power a regular household device like a flashlight. Leave them in and use the power pack to keep you up and running on the go. This versatile product has been placed across the country as an improved alternative to the emergency alkaline solutions sold by others.
ZAP is able to offer value prices and include most power tips in the box with the battery because of its "Smart Battery" design. All of the power sensing is in the battery system and not in the power tip. There are no preset power buttons.
ZAP has a commitment to higher current devices as well. The R12 Media Recharge-it-all Battery is configured to support 5V USB electronics and others up to 7.4V via the DC out. It should sell at retail for about $59.99 and is designed to fit in your pocket or purse and operates at "True Power," a substantial 3400mAh.
"We looked at the marketplace and have found our sweet spot by designing this product for women on the go and the digital professional," comments Melissa Brandao Director of ZAP Power Systems. "If you have a 'What Women Want' department in your electronics store come see us at CES."
ZAP will be at the Sands Convention Center in Booth #73039
