Director of Sales and Marketing

ZAP is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to develop a comprehensive marketing plan to build and increase electric vehicle (EV) sales.

Scope and Responsibilities:

The Director will develop the strategic product marketing and sales plan and build the team necessary to meet EV sales objectives and EV dealer growth. S/he will find the markets and dealers who may have an interest in selling the vehicles, and make them aware of ZAP.

More specifically, the challenges of the role include the development and creation of:

Strategic plan to increase sales to existing dealers and reach the market for potential new dealers. Marketing strategy to create fleet and government sales.
Develop, modify and add to the existing team to reach sales objectives. Manage, lead and mentor a current team of four to five people.
Implement/execute the plans, include increasing the number of dealers, increasing sell-through (to consumers) for existing dealers and new dealers.
Have responsibility for budgets, and profit/loss. Oversee development of marketing materials, collateral, promotions, etc. Demonstrate an ability to inspire others, support and/or build effective teams. Deploy CRM tools and technologies to optimize opportunity management and customer communication.

Experience Required:

The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of five years of automotive dealer experience; three years in automotive marketing. Sales management experience at an automotive company
Proven track record of creating and adding dealers to an existing network. Experience in developing and closing fleet, governmental and corporate sales
Experience writing and implementing strategic product marketing plans. Success in introducing and launching an automotive brand.
Marketing research and competitive intelligence gathering. Planning and budgeting experience. Management experience and skills.
Experience in event planning. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Explorer, Photoshop, PageMaker.

PROJECT ENGINEER

ZAP is currently looking for a project engineer for ZAP’s electric vehicle development activities. The candidate will be working with both micro-cars and electric cars, as well as other alternative energy vehicles. The candidate will be working with our manufacturing partners overseeing engineering, manufacturing and quality controls. This will be a highly entrepreneurial position in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The candidate MUST have automotive engineering experience, be familiar with all DOT and EPA requirements, and be familiar with global parts sourcing and safety engineering, emission testing and compliance matters. Experience working on electric vehicles will be helpful, but not necessary. MUST have educational background in mechanical and design engineering. The position will be based in Santa Rosa, CA, but travel will be required.

AUTOMOTIVE FLEET SALES

ZAP is looking for an experienced Automotive Sales Representative to help establish and manage Fleet accounts. This candidate must develop sales leads into prospects and multi-unit purchase orders.

The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate must be well-organized to manage many prospects and accounts at the same time. Understanding of Government, Corporate and Education sales is required, as well as understanding of Automotive industry. Previous experience selling to Fleets is highly preferred.

Light travel may be required. The candidate will report to the Automotive Division Sales Manager.

AUTOMOTIVE DEALER SALES

ZAP is looking for an experienced Automotive Sales Representative to establish and maintain automotive dealers to sell our vehicles. The candidate will manage new dealer leads within target markets and must be able to develop prospects into licensed dealers. Additionally, the candidate will manage specific dealer accounts. The responsibilities include regular communications with the licensed dealerships as well as managing the customer service and marketing needs of the dealership. Experience with Automotive Dealers, as well as having excellent sales, communications and organizational skills is absolutely required. Previous dealer finance experience is highly preferred.

Light travel may be required. The candidate will report directly to the Automotive Division Manager.

LEVEL 1 IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

ZAP is looking for an experienced support personnel to support ZAP's Corporate headquarters Helpdesk operations in Santa Rosa, California. The candidate will provide level 1 support for Windows XP, 2003 server, Microsoft SQL and Exchange Server as well as several desktop applications. This person should have the desire to work with end users as well as level 2/3 engineers and be looking to advance their career in desktop, server and networking fields.

Responsibilities include:

Act as the initial telephone contact for all incoming calls to help desk with the goal of providing end users with a certainty that their issue is being addressed.
Provide first level technical support for all incoming calls and prioritize as necassary. Maintain responsibility for managing open tickets through to completion. Includes researching symptoms and working with Level 2/3 support engineers with goal of preventing issues from reoccurring. Document details of each call throughout ticket life and close tickets with resolution details upon completion. Review ticket logs to keep management informed of any perceived trends in calls being received. Attend staff and departmental meetings to help prioritize issues and projects.

Qualifications:

Must have: 2+ years experience in a Help Desk Level environment. Bachelors degree, A+ Certification, Microsoft MCSE track or equivalent experience/education is preffered. Analytical skills, ability to look at options and alternatives, ability to reseearch causes and find solutions.
Desire to research, learn new products and recommend solutions. Willingness to communicate in team environment. Written and verbal communication skills are a must. Understanding of networking, DNS and data flow is a plus.
