SANTA ROSA, California (January 19, 2005) - Advanced transportation pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAAP) announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has approved the registration of ZAP CAR? as a trademark for ZAP? brand automobiles.

A pioneer in electric bikes and scooters, ZAP has shifted its focus three years ago to the auto industry with plans of creating a new car company. ZAP is licensing the manufacturing and distribution of automobiles and with plans to create a line of ZAP branded automobiles powered by fuel-efficient vehicle technologies that include gasoline, hydrogen, electric and other fuels.
