SANTA ROSA, California (October 9, 2003) – Michelin's Challenge Bibendum in September showcased a dizzying array of new technology from major automakers, but it was a new car from ZAP® (OTC BB:ZAPZ), a small, public company from Santa Rosa, California, that may have the biggest impact on the industry. ZAP is importing the first production electric cars in history from China, says ZAP CEO Steve Schneider, who believes this is the first time a production automobile of any kind has been imported from China to the United States. ZAP has licensed for the distribution of the new electric WORLDCAR™ throughout the Americas and is rolling them out to dealers this fall at several trade events.
