ZAP and eMOTORS Create Marketing Alliance

SEBASTOPOL, California (January 17, 2002) - Electric scooter pioneer ZAP (NASDAQ:ZAPP) today announced it has signed a cooperative marketing agreement with eMOTORS of San Rafael, California. An electric vehicle distributor, eMOTORS owns local distribution rights for the Sparrow, a unique, three-wheeled electric vehicle manufactured by Corbin Motors. The single-occupancy Sparrow falls under a motorcycle classification. Unlike a normal motorcycle, the Sparrow is fully enclosed for protection from the elements. Capable of traveling up to 70 MPH, the Sparrow is freeway-legal and can even travel in California carpool lanes.
