ZAP Adds Sales and Marketing Muscle

SEBASTOPOL, California (January 14, 2002) - Alternative transportation developer ZAP (NASDAQ:ZAPP) today announced that veteran marketer Gerry Guerin has joined the Company as its Director of Sales and Marketing. Initially hired as a consultant in October, Guerin brings more than 25 years of marketing management, retail chain store, and mass merchandise experience to assist ZAP in expanding the retail marketplace for its electric scooters, bicycles and other alternative transportation and recreational vehicles. Previously, Guerin was the founder of Monterey Marketing and Western Regional Sales Manager for Federated Group.
