ZAP's New LEPTON™ Electric Scooter Featured in Popular Science

SEBASTOPOL, California - (September 18, 2001) Popular Science has selected the new LEPTON™ electric scooter from ZAP (Nasdaq:ZAPP) for its October 2001 "What's New" section. The California electric vehicle pioneer says it has received its first shipment of the Italian electric scooters and is now filling orders.

The LEPTON provides a whole new experience in motor scooters. You'll have all the exhilaration of a gasoline scooter, but you'll be zipping along in almost eerie silence. Just turn the key, twist the throttle and go-no shifting necessary. Scoot to work, to school, to errands, deliveries, site seeing-or just for fun!
